Instrument cluster dead backlight on center lcd repaired!!!!

So it looks like many metris owners have had the same issue. Center main LCD displays goes black and cant read anything unless a flashlight is placed on it. After lots of research, i did find a guy that replaced the LCD w a new one and he claimed it solved the problem. However comments showed...

Thanks, That is the problem that I have. Van needs to go for a service in 3 weeks. Will pick the dealers brain and see what they have to say and how much $$$$$ they think it will cost to fix.

I don't think there is a shop in my little town that can do the repair as described in the tread above and I can not do that myself.

 

I wonder if there is a mail away service ... or if you find could find it as a part from a metris that is no longer in service / been considered totaled.

 

That is a good question and worth looking into. Very few Metris vans around my neck of the woods, so finding one that is totaled, might be hard. But I will try my best google skills.

 

There are indeed probably not that many, but we had one user who imported a damaged Metris to Europe and repaired it there ... and he had found a good many through one site. Will try to find it.

The website was Copart ... but that's actually only for damaged vehicles ... not parts, sorry.
