I have a warning light on the dash with the symbol of the back of a car, an exclamation point in the middle, followed by the front of a car. Does anyone know what this means?

Thats the collision prevention assist status indicator. If you get to close too fast to someone it should also ding at you and blink an explanation point symbol.

So is this light always on, the collision assist indicator? I have a brand new Metris with 23 miles on it and it has this light on, lit up in RED, all the time. I would think it is only supposed to come on if I get too close to something....
What it lit RED? Can you grab a pic?
I don't have this system on my Metris, but if it is always on and RED it should be be a warning, because our standard display stuff is white and the danger stuff is red.
Options/thoughts:
The service manager should know, because the manual is mum on this. Only mentions the default white symbol.
Try the menu options to see about activation / deactivation of the feature.

- it is a technical malfunction (computer error, view obscured, bad sensor, short in a wire, ...)

That's the idea, mine is a little sensitive, on certain roads a shadow in the road will set it off momentarily. But it has worked correctly in a few driving situations.
