Regarding the Trip Computer screen showing the overall results from 'Reset' what, if anything, can be derived from the numbers ? For example, given the relationship between the number of hours operation and overall fuel consumption, can one derive an indication of how the vehicle has been driven ? Is there a relationship between these figures and does a much higher rate of consumption indicate a vehicle that has been driven more aggressively ? When comparing two vehicles of similar age, does a comparison of this data lead to a more informed choice when purchasing a second hand vehicle ?
Just curious...

Without knowing other parameters such as; was one van driven mostly at gross wt. and the other empty or was one driven in the flat lands the other up and down mountains all day...I don't think you could noodle out many valid assumptions.

No, not much can be reliably ascertained by looking at those numbers because the owner or seller can reset them as often as they like.

That and the key being on is what generates hours. Engine hours can be accessed by a tech or a person who knows the sequence, but that hour indicator is not an engine hours measurement.
