Hello Metris Friends, got a 2021 Metris cargo van, once in awhile if i do a faster stop, like braking real quick, I will feel the tranny kick back at me, kind of like a minor tranny whiplash, it doesnt happen often but I was wondering if this is normal? Its like I feel it give me a front punch jerk, not to bad but im a bit concerned its an early tranny issue, maybe all the Metris vans do it from time to time......thanks....

I have a similar issue where the transmission will occasionally jerk really hard during an upshift from 2nd to 3rd gear in comfort mode — automatic shifting. This jerkiness never happens while shifting manually with the paddles, btw. Took this issue up to my local dealer (Mercedes Manhattan) twice and both times they said it’s operating normally. Just had my 30k-mile transmission flush which did set me back $800 so we’ll see how it goes.

It is also worth noting that the loaner 2021 GLC300 I got with its new 9G-Tronic transmission also jerked sometimes during an upshift. Might just simply be a Mercedes transmission thing.

Get it checked. I documented what I thought was a pinhole coolant leak -- dealer couldn't reproduced it even with 24 hour pressure test. I was happy to rule out a problem.

Transmissions may "learn" your driving style, but problems 3600 miles in should be a concern.
