You probably get a lot of looks in it, being in the city where there's a lot of cargo vans and passenger vans, and of course you're wearing a mercedes badge :D
Here's a pic of my Flint Grey Metallic Metris.

I'm in SF, so the star is not something people look at unless its a SLS, so I am ignored for most part in that sense, but my friends and Neighbours who brought their highlanders or Suburban's do appreciate the Metris and would have brought one had they known about it.
I give credit to Greenmanedlion for educating us and making us aware of what a great value Metris is. I have taken in off-terrain and can appreciate the traction control system and how effective it is on steep muddy grade. No need for a 4x4, unless you are doing some serious articulations.
Overall a great Van with a smooth ride, even better than a E-class. Looking for some help in term of swivel front seat adaptors. Appreciate any feedback.

The design is so much better than the other options in the market. It doesn't look like a box with no design at all. That should take them a long way.

bmyth - those look great. are they Mercedes or another manufacturer? Any specifics you can share would be appreciated....
Brian,
I have the AMG sport wheels on my E350 and really liked the look. I couldn't find the same application available for the Metris yet, so I went with aftermarket wheels. The company is Rial, manufactured out of Germany, and the model is called M10. This is an inexpensive wheel and can be sourced very easily online. It's a 17x8 sized alloy wheel with 48mm offset. I did some research on tires and chose the Michelin Defender LTX M/S XL tires in a 225/55R-17 size (OEM sizing), based on ride quality, build, and reliability. I wanted to go to a 18" or 19" wheel/tire combo, but based on the curb weight of the Metris, needed to consider a tire with a C/D load weight rating to handle the weight.

Compared to the stock alloy wheels with my Hankook Ventus tires, I see a marked improvement in ride quality, quieter and smoother. I'm getting some compliments on the wheels, esp. since I have the OEM caps on them.

Good luck on your search ... hopefully, this has been helpful.

Love my new Paxxenger Metris. Loaded up with every option (but cold weather package) and then some. Great ride, handling, MPG and safety, all at a competitive price. Took max warranty and maintenance plans...expecting this to be a long-term relationship.

BMYTH - thank you! great info...just placed my Metris order today and (right now) i'm going to have the dealer paint/powder coat the stock alloys a flat black. But...i'm going to research your option as well - they look great.
I feel great. A bit tired, but great.

Greetings all,

Two things in life I never thought I'd own. A mini-van (yeah, it kinda is one), and a Mercedes Benz.
Goes to show, never say never.

First post here, so thanks everyone for the help while I was lurking and learning.

Not a great photo, but my first rest stop during the three hour return trip to pick up the Metris. Cloudy, cool, windy, drizzly, an all 'round great day to road trip a new ride. So far apart from the visual black hole on the passenger side and the fair amount of road noise from an empty metal box rolling at 70MPH, I'm really liking The Bismarck.

cheers

Parsi:

I had the same sentiments: Would never own a minivan or a Mercedes. I'm now a happy owner and call mine "The Beast"...

Parsi, that's a nice color. Is it one of the premium gray colors? I like the way the unpainted bumper area blends in.
