I'm going through the process of getting winter tires and wheels, and was wondering about the TPMS sensors. They're available from MB of course, for about $60. But has anyone tried using sensors from another source? At Tire Rack they say that the required sensor is Schrader 433 MHz Part 3013 for $38 each.

While Amazon has a set of five 433 MHz "Mercedes" sensors for $147.

Anyone know of any non MB sensors that have worked for them?

I've been running the tire rack sensors for about 15k miles and they've been perfect.

I refuse to support the next big American de-jobbing and consumer rip off fustercluck. Get quality, get service, employ Americans with good salaries and benefits, and go shop in Boscov’s. Or Dillard’s, or Belk.

Though probably not for TPMS sensors.

Question: my wife’s Toyota Siena requires a complete TPMS reprogramming whenever we swap the winter and summer wheels. Is the Metris smart like Audi in that the vehicle recognizes new sensors without having to clone or reprogram?
