Has anyone been following some sort of service life interval on the serpentine belt (poly-v-belt)? I read it's inspected every B Service, but when to actually replace besides obvious visual degradation?
Just replaced ours and the tensioner at 106k. Does not appear to have been done at any of the prior A/B services. Did show signs of wear which is why it was replaced.
I replaced pulley, tensioner and belt as a preemptive maintenance when I replaced failed alternator at around 70k. Belt and two pulleys looked good, with a minimum sign of wear. If you worry, the Continental OE belt cost $20 and is easy to replace DIY.
