If it was in the ocean I'd probably open it up and make sure there's no corosion on the battery/battery contacts and maybe clean it out. The circuit board itself is probably epoxy or resin coated so essentially waterproof.

What he said. Common wisdom for anything dropped in saltwater is to open it up and flush it with fresh water to get out any salt that you can.
