Well this should be interesting and likely a long time work in progress. A. Side sofa/pullout bed w a self contained toilet is my plan . We will get on it as soon as the van arrives.

"Cassette" toilets are pretty common on European camper vans. Dometic makes a variety of sizes and they are available through Walmart.

I bought a Laveo Dry Flush Chemical Free toilet and am super happy with it.
Not cheap, but it doesn't smell a bit and momma is very very happy with it.
I get the perhaps a buck a flush is pricy but for my money it is really worth it.

I hadn't seen one of these before. I like how its actually pretty simple. How many trips to the loo do you get out of a cartridge? 15?

15 per cartridge.
One can do #1 in it a few times. Just use plenty of paper.
Absolutely no smell during a 1 week trip.
Light ands easy to move about.
Dumps legally in a trash can.
