Rodents love to build nests in vehicle air boxes in our rural location. They cause trouble with blocked intakes, destroyed air filters, wiring and sensors. To avoid this I have fashioned an inexpensive solution as shown??in the photos. Takes ten minutes to cut out and bend, ten to wire in place and pops in place where it can be pulled and checked periodically.
Anyone have other ideas for keeping
critters out of our Metrises? Thanks.

Looks like that screen should do well for the intake. I recently had this problem on an exotic where the rodent chewed through several vacuum lines and the intake pipes. A few thousand later...

I'm sure every situation is different, but reducing the population of the rodents near the parking location is probably the only way. I guess you could park in a puddle of water. The late departed rodent that ate my vacuum lines was climbing up the tires.

Irish Spring. We used to cut a slit in a couple of packages and drop it in the camper over the winter. Maybe it works somehow here as well.
