All is as it should be. The battery is under the passenger seat, so it's covered. Nothing under the drivers seat, so it's not.
I just got my Metris Friday (Jan. 15). I ordered it last October and was promised delivery around mid Feb., so about a month early.
Could one of you current owners check on something for me? Looking at the cab seats from the back, down near the floor at the seat base, there is a small curved panel on the passenger side that covers up some wiring. But there is no such panel on the driver side, leaving a cubby hole. Is there supposed to be a panel there on the driver side?
I can't find any pictures that show this part of the interior.
Thanks.
I don't have a cap. This is a hook feature for an accessory. Retractable roller cover for the cargo area.Could some of the current owners confirm you there is no cap over this fastener? Looks awful having this exposed on a $40 k car.
Are you nuts? All is good. I assume you have a passenger Metris with 7 seats (two on the second row). That panel is missing so there is enough foot space for that passenger that is right behind the driver. If you were to have 8 seater you would not have a panel on either side.
That what this cover is for.Are you nuts?
Your elaborate writing still suggests that you are just guessing. At least you refrained yourself this time. Thank you and let that thread continue. That's not what the cover is for. I mean I know what it is for precisely (I mentioned above, it covers the battery that is located under it.) But even if I did not happen to know that, I know it isn't for what you say on basic logic alone.
No manufacturer would spend a dime on a plastic panel to reduce legroom, simply because that legroom is not used. That would be spending money pointlessly, and car companies do not do that. The rule of thumb in car building is that you will sell your sister into slavery, murder your mother, and butcher your father to save a nickel a unit.
Forget the huge numbers involved in car transaction prices, it is a business with razor thin margins, even a strictly premium operation like Mercedes-Benz. In fact, my stock portfolio has outperformed Daimler AG's EBIT margin nine out of the past ten years, and while I do think I'm pretty good at playing the market, I'm not a genius. That is to say, if Daimler followed my stock transactions with their investments, instead of all of that auto engineering and manufacturing schmontses, they'd make more money. (At least in theory- in a few cases matching my ratio would probably invoke take over regulations with numbers their size.)
I don't mean to insult you. You just happen to be dead wrong.
My writing still seems to be upsetting you. I wrote to the moderator to step in. It should be a peaceful place where you should have not getting offensive over someone's else expression or opinion as you started it.No, my elaborate writing suggests that I like haken a tsheinik. Otherwise why would I continue this meshugas?
That is incorrect. I have all 8 seats and have the panel on the passenger side, and no panel on the drivers side. All is good. I assume you have a passenger Metris with 7 seats (two on the second row). That panel is missing so there is enough foot space for that passenger that is right behind the driver. If you were to have 8 seater you would not have a panel on either side.
That what the forum is. I said that 8 seater will not have this plastic piece and someone who owns 8 seaters comes up and states the opposite without calling the originator "nuts".That is incorrect. I have all 8 seats and have the panel on the passenger side, and no panel on the drivers side.
I am not going to insult you but you still keep doing in a way.Peaceful? You're the one that is mahkn a tsimes fun.
You gave a ludicrous answer to a question I had already answered. I corrected you because my not correcting you would be me tacitly suggesting you happen to be right, and I don't want members misguided by inaccurate information. If you want the moderators to step in, I suggest they remove the whole Megillah, starting with your post initiating this rubbish.
