So the U.S. spec Metris comes with these conventional tail lights:

Whereas the Euro-spec V-Class (luxury version of Vito/Metris) is available with these nice full LED rear lights:

I wonder how difficult it would be to upgrade. Anyone think the conversion might be plug and play? Does Mercedes usually require some sort of software tweak when changing lights? Anyone know how much these lights cost?

I'm not sure if LED tail lamp swaps are high on the list of most folks shopping a Mini-Sprinter.

If Mercedes decides they can take cake from Toyota/Nissan mini-van sales then maybe they spec it slightly higher but then that invites cost creep, not favourable if you're trying to win over a budding family... (this was their strategy for CLA/GLA)

Bored today at the dealership (we're slow), I looked in the EPC for the "LUXUSKOMBI" tail lamps and found the part numbers:

Left:
A4478200564 - Left Taillamp, List: $320
A4478202500 - Lamp Carrier, List: $33

Right:
A4478200564 - Right Taillamp, List $320
A4478202400 - Lamp Carrier, List: $33

Tail lamps are on "Intergalactic Backorder" as the parts guy said. Maybe after a while, I can recheck availability.

This is awesome and something I'll want to do with if we can finally decide on a Metris. Hopefully fullthrottlenyc will chime back in with the details.

I wouldn't count on it considering he couldn't even share what dealer he purchased from and how his experience was.
disturbing we have members who 'drive-by' post and simply refuse to contribute other than showin' off.

Still on the lookout to convert mine to LED by spring... from some source.
