Making the Metris look better.

Thinking about how I could make my Metris look a bit nicer. Has anyone done anything to the exterior of their Metris? Anything at all??

Put up a couple pictures so we know what you're starting with
I personally think it looks perfect...

But I like minimal design.

I like the way it looks all ready but I think a few little things could make it much better.

I already changed my fog lights to HID and waiting to a "retrofit kit" for headlights because I don't want to blind people on the opposite site. Not much to notice anyway.

I might try my skill to "Plasti Dip" the front bumper with flat black to make an "X" from the upper grill to the bumper: it would look a little more aggressive that way. If anyone did it already please post a picture.

Thanks for the links. Those lip kits look nice but the prices are a bit high for me. Especially for fiberglass.
Minor Upgrade

Added bumper sill, chrome mirror cover, chrome handle and chrome grill frame. Still waiting for my other parts to arrive and I will update the picture when I have time to install the side step bar.

I hope you plan on adding some protective film or something that will prevent the bumper sill from getting scratched up. Paint Protection Film can do it for you...

Any wheel recommendations? I'm thinking of a 19" version of this wheel.

We tried to soften the white van appearance by adding a little artwork to our camper version. We'll see how well they hold up.

I did decals too - that long blank side needed something.

Please be aware of weight ratio of your tires. Metris is very heavy van and need 101 or 103 load rated tires.
Yep. My 19" tires have a 102 load rating.

I see you're in NYC. I'm thinking of picking up my Metris on a trip back east in a few weeks and then driving it back out here to Denver. Did you have a good experience with your dealer? Where'd you wind up buying it?
That will be a great start to breaking in the metris since I think there are two break in's, the first being what gets the engine all up to par with where it should be - with the special oil it comes with - and then a number of oil changes down the road the MPG's stabilize (second stage)

Sorry I do not prefer to answer that. I bought exactly what I wanted and for the price I want. This caused my experience to be different than others. Most people are ok with settling for something that is readily available to the dealership and willing to pay MSRP or close to it. I'm not that type of person.

ah that's something I will need to look into. I thought the first service was at 15k though I'll probably do it sooner

Hm okay. Good luck with your Metris.
