i haven't seen any illuminated stars on Vitos. Quick lesson on the auto industry:
A auto engineer or bean counter will sell his wife and murder his mother to save a nickel a unit on a car. Despite the very high transaction prices, Mercedes is the most marginally profitable auto maker in the world, with a 6% margin on its cars. Considering a good investment professional can get a 6% return on stock investments without sweating too much, I am sure you can see why.
Since the V-class offers illuminated stars, I am sure that there is a connector for illuminated stars in its wiring harness. Since the Vito, to my knowledge, does not offer t, I am certain that if it is not offered ex-factory, the connector doesn't exist. Long ago companies figured out it was cheaper to offer one wiring harness for a model, than to have multiple types in inventory.
Since the Vito, however, has a hugely less complicated electrical system compared to the air-suspended, Command-equipped V-class, I would guess they either have three or four harnesses for the W447: V-class, FWD Vito, RWD/AWD Vito, and possibly (due to the totally different engine) the Metris.
If the Metris's is different, it is likely even less complicated- possibly explaining the lack of certain easy options- like the roof vent and power seats- on the Metris. I would tend to guess that the Metris doesn't have the appropriate connector. If so, you are going to strain- if not outright void- the warranty on your car to splice it in.
