Hello,

I was wondering if anybody here has ever seen one of the factory optional floor-mounted L-tracks when it was not installed in the van.

What really want to know is: Do MB factory floor rails have a special, deep extrusion profile that fills up the entire space in the floor recess, plus the thickness of the wood floor so that they sit flush the way they do, or are they just regular, industry L-tracks with spacers beneath them?

I plan to add a third track, and if the factory part would be the right thickness out of the box, then I would prefer to use that. But of course the MB part is expensive, so I would hate to pay the premium and then end up just getting an over-priced, standard L-track and having to do custom spacers after all.

I dont have the van yet, or I would just figure it out myself.

Thanks in advance to the person with the answer to this question!

to answer your question directly yes.
The floor plywood has a routed channel.
The l track cargo rail bolts down to the floor and he rail seems to help hold down the plywood floor.
The floor plywood uses spacers to deal withbthe up/down profile of the sheet metal floor.
