Hi, I have a 2016 Metris. It won’t let me shift gears . First when I get in the van it says transmission is not in Park , danger of rolling. Then I put the ignition on , it shows is on P and it says : do not shift gears service required . It won’t let me put in in gear . Any ideas / suggestions ? Thank you

That article explains it pretty well. Reprogramming a used one is 150 plus days waiting.

Out of curiosity, have you rolled under the van and looked at the sides of the transmission?

Assuming you are asking because you will do the work. Maybe just have a peek.

I think you are going to be surprised, but yes, I did,- I read this article yesterday, and was under my car at midnight trying to find it lol
I'll try to do it again today after work. And yes, I would be doing it by myself,- I do not see any reasons to pay somebody to take 4 bolts down
I highly appreciate your responses and willingness to help,- thank you very much!

I'd agree with this if time isn't an issue. Looks simple enough. Maybe save 1000.

Got it fixed,- it still was a fuse. Normal upon visible inspection, but blown when rang it. I’m glad I did not take down and replace ISM module... Thank you everyone!
