I'm looking for a Mercedes-Benz dealer that will return e-mails or call when they promise to. So far I'm something like 0/20. Recommendations appreciated.

In what state do you live?
California, but I'm open to suggestions anywhere. The dealers I've contacted in person literally cannot be bothered to check stock let alone follow-through on order inquiries.

Driving a few thousand miles is not that big a deal for a major purchase. I had to go to Kentucky for my last new car.

I bought mine from the dealership in Temecula. Got a quote from one in SC, can't remember their name now, and after a few emails they got very close to that quote. The first person I emailed was a bit slow to respond, but they where very nice in the end.

Ask for Lauren Rose. She is one of the commercial fleet managers 951 2167817.

I got mine from Alex Sepulveda. Sprinter Sales Manager at Mercedes Benz, Rocklin (near Sacramento). He hunted around and found one with options I wanted.

Well then you should go to Kentucky again. MB Fort Mitchell is the best new car dealer I have ever worked with. You can check their stock online, but call Dan Tilley 8593311500. He will take care of you.

Mercedes was looking to sell 15-20k a year, iirc. Last year they sold 6k and the pace hasn't picked up, despite the Worker. I'm wondering if a 2018 is not a sure thing.

I don't have the answer. But I have a suggestion NOT go to MB of Long Beach with Herb Lugger.

You made me wonder selling my van now while it's still at reasonable price.

I interesting observation. Well, the Ford Transit may be an alternative then.

Not to get too off topic, but the VW vans have held their value very well. They have not been made/sold here in 14 years and you still see them being sound for $20K, with 150,000 miles. I hope the Metris keeps that kind of long term resale value.

I think the Metris sales will take off "if" nationwide gas prices hit $4 a gallon and i'm sure resale value will be great too.

If they discontinue it, I would guess that would help resale. Nobody really wanted the Eurovan until it was discontinued either.

But please, I am aimlessly speculating.

I don't think, or should I say hope, they will discontinue the Metris after a 2 year run. All they need to do is educate the dealers so they know what it is and what it can do. I looked at all the manufacturers vans when I bought my Metris and it worked the best for me. Was the longest with the best turning radius and the only one that did not have a driver sliding door. I need that space for my shelving for my parts for my business.

The dealers are just clueless when it comes to the vans and look at you like you are a looser for looking at a $28000 van and not a $100k AMG. That will hurt them at the end.

Yeah its a shame. My closest dealer has a van specialist salesman with his area of the showroom. So it could may be a variation by the dealer.

Did they send 15-20K to the states or something less than that? If they sent that many and only sold 6K, then there should be a lot of 2016's out there for sale, but it seems like folks are having difficulty finding them.

The dealer we bought ours from has 29 cargo and 39 passenger, according to their website which may not be up to date. Of those, they have 29 2016's. Hendricks Motors of Charlotte.
