My van came back from its second Service A with a notation of 8 mm pad depth in front and 7 mm in the rear. My manual makes it appear the 3mm is the minimum pad depth, but it is confusing but it includes measurements with and without the backing plate. Wear limit without backing plate appears to be 3mm or 9.23 mm with the backing plate in front. In back it is also 3 mm pad depth and 9.23 mm with the backing plate. The backing plate is 6.23 mm and the new depth is 20.7 mm in front and 18.2 in back.

So, 6.23 plus my 8 mm = 14.23 left out of 20.7, and 20.7 minus 6.23 means original pad thickness in front is 14.47 in front In 29,500 miles, I've used 6.23/14.47% of my pads or 43% 29,500 = 43% so I should have 57% left or another 39,000 miles on the factory brakes total of 68,500 miles on factory pads

Anybody seen close to that or is it just wishful thinking, bad math or both?
