I have a 2016 Metris with 100k. About a month ago, I had a stereo installed which included a head unit and a reasonable class D amp. My battery was dead about ten days later. I thought it may be time for a new battery so I replaced the new day battery. A few days after that, it was dead too.

The stereo installers tried to trouble shoot. I asked them to disconnect the amp and I also pulled the fuses associated with the radio. I then put in a replacement battery last night. This morning the new battery was dead. It could be another issue unrelated to the stereo.

I am scratching my head and would be appreciate any insight one of the forum members might have.

Obviously the stereo people botched the install and probably created a drain. I would demand they remedy it; it is their problem as reasonable professional stereo installers; in their capacity as such they are required to not damage your car. They should also reimburse you for the wasted battery purchases.
