I've had my metris cargo for 3 months now I've added a 170 degree backup camera to a mirror monitor. My goal all along was factory radio integration but it seems harder than it should be. I would have just purchased one with it but I couldn't get a unit with hitch and backup camera without nav and several other options not needed. I have been to a local auto radio shop but it seemed I knew more info than they I see the NAV-TV device, and there is another that is similar, however they seem pricey both over 300.00 . I have asked the dealer if they could activate the function in the radio, the response was well maybe for 150.00, but we've never done it so it could be more Does anyone know where to change this option in the radio??

On a Similar note how about changing the horrid default ringtone for android:frown:

It's definately possible, a friend of mine has a Sprinter with a (dealer installed, but definitely not Mercedes- it was drilled into the rear door, it shoulda been installed in the camera mount) radio displayed camera.

Do you have a Sprinter specialist? (Mercedes Commercial only dealer) There are too many dealers who really don't take Commercial sales seriously enough. Where you located?

Very, it follows androids, I have the G4 and the person from Verizon tried his S7 same high pitched loud noise.
If you carry the fruit it plays back your normal ringtone from the phone

So did you get the back up camera working? I'm looking at a Metris but it doesn't come with camera and I would like one as stock as possible.

Go into settings in the phone (not in the van now, doing by memory) and turn down receiving volume I think it is. It will stop at least piercing your ears.

Had Metris in for my first A Service a couple weeks ago and there were software updates for the audio 15 to help with poor reception and the android ringtones resetting the volume to overload. the results were mediocre for the reception but better and the volume control , well lets just say it no longer scares me. Personally I think MB could do better to support the largest selling smart device platform, than to have just one horrible noise. Even a true ring ring ring would be huge. On a lighter note has anyone stumbled upon engineering mode for the audio 15? lots of YouTube for others

I installed a Kenwood CMOS camera 22P. Very nice wide angle, great picture even night time. Then i bought a rearview camera interface NTV-KIT715 MB-Metris-PRG KIT from NAVTV. This allows me to add 2 cameras. 1 front and 1 rear. Now i have only the rear so far. No parking lines, as my camera doesnt have that built in..
As soon as i put the car in reverse, the picture pops up. Perfect!!! Took 10 minutes to install the kit after i had the camera installed a day before.
I highly recommended this kit: https://navtv.com/products/NTV-KIT715/metris-prg.html

I called my dealer and of course they were dumb founded. The lack of knowledge about this van is ridiculous. After a few phone calls back and forth, the lady said it'd cost 900$ to instal a "non-OEM part that works with mercedes". I tried everything in my power to get her to cough up the name but she insisted that its just a non OEm item.

How easy was this install? I would say I'm very handy but not handy with electronics at all. Does it come with instructions? Are they clear instruction? Any suggestions?

This might also be worth a shot, did you by chance happen to create an instructional video that you aren't sharing here. it'd be very handful:wink: Or maybe perhaps you have a lot of free time on your hand and wouldn't mind making a video lol

Had a local colorado company install the NTV-KIT715 MB-Metris kit and an HD camera. They did a very clean job and do a lot of sprinters http://www.elevatedaudioinc.com/ It did cost over $800 but this included the camera and NTV Kit.
Nice thing about the NTV kit is that if you hold down the back button on the steering wheel it turns on the backup camera and the same for the front camera (if you installed both cameras) when holding down the speak button on the right side of the steering wheel.

Good to know since these days you really have to trust who works on your vehicles especially when it comes to electricals which aren't as for us to look at and inspect like body work. Rather not find out down the road that shotty wiring was the source of an issue.

Any chance we can get a video 'look at this' up on youtube for all to see?

I have the factory backup cam, but was considering adding 'rear view' camera since my MC has no rear windows.

Mid City programmer

I did find a tech from another dealership interested in helping with the aftermarket camera, said an hour or so since the camera was wired and installed, but after probably spending 2.5 hours on it enabling it in on board systems it still needs an interface for CAN. I am ordering a mid city metriscam programmer. I will attach pics after completion

Back up camera installed

I ended up going with mid city engineering and their metris cam programmer 308 plus shipping, The install was fairly straightforward with the exception of their recommendation for power and direction on where The CAN terminal block was. I have included some pictures and have install the camera on a prior attempts. I chose remove the cupholder and the escutcheon that holds it in place you'll see some detail in the pictures with how to remove it I made all my connections and soldered with heat shrink behind the radio
