Greetings from
Brazil.
Over here its called
Vito but overall, its the same van. I believe we have different engines. Mine, a Cargo van, is diesel fueled.
I found this forum searching for instructions regarding the 3rd brake light removal.
On january I purchased an used 2016 Vito CDI 111 and the brake light was broken. So, like pounce mentioned:
I may want to add one of the Chinese units with the camera built in.
I wanted this too. Its hard to park it with only the external mirrors. So here is how I did it.
I ordered the 3rd brake light from China at AliExpress website. There are some sellers with different prices but it seems they all sell the same aftermarket product.

The other item to order would be the screen to view what the camera is showing. I could order an Android Car System or some multimedia device - they are great - but the good ones are too expensive for the moment. So I found a cheaper solution. An interior rear view mirror with a built in screen.
There are 2 types of interior rear view mirrors with screens:
A complete rear view mirror.
The ones you attach over your OEM rear view.
Now here is a funny fact on South America`s Cargo Vitos. They don`t come with interior rear view mirror. Afterall, there is a wall behind the front seats, so whats the point of having an interior mirror, right? Let me know if the Metris Cargo vans comes with one.
But the windshield does have the support for the interior mirror. I guess its the same part number for the Passanger Vitos. Maybe its cheaper to make a single windshield for both versions.
Windshield support.
So, since I had none, I had to order the complete mirror and I confess I prefered it that way. A single piece mirror looks way more OEM than some big gadget over your mirror. And the guy who sells it, sends it with the correct connector to your windshield support! You can send him a photo of your support model and they will ship it with the correct part for your windshield. It doesn`t get more "OEM looks" than that.
Here is a link to the complete rear view mirror to conect to the Mercedes Benz windshield support.

I ordered it with the conector #12.
Here is what I got:
The brake light with camera (and OEM brake light for comparison).
The interior mirror with built in screen.
And next is
all the work done to install it:

a double-sided adhesive foam style gasket acting as a seal.
There is a rubber gasket glued between the brake light and the car body. And that is what holds the brake light in position more than anything. I used a cutter to slice it separating it from the car body. If you try to pull it without cutting the gasket seal all around, most likely the brake light will break.
Here you can see part of the gasket from my broken brake light. And this is how you should cut this seal between the brake light and the car body.
After you cut the gasket, the brake light comes off easily. Now remove the remaining gasket and clean the area.
Here is the first disapointment. The aftermarket brake light
DOES NOT HAVE A GOOD FIT with the car body. It looks the same, it has all the correct wiring and metal clips, but it's slightly different from the OEM.
